Bucks fans purchase 10K full season ticket memberships
The Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association have surpassed a record-setting 10,000 tickets sold for the 2018-19 season. This is the most tickets purchased for one season in team history, according to a Bucks’ news release. The range of prices for Bucks full season ticket packages is between $764 and $9,500.
Additionally, the franchise has sold out all suites and lofts. The full season ticket memberships were purchased by more than 3,500 new season ticket members.
“This is such a major moment for the Bucks organization,” Bucks senior vice president of ticket sales and service Jamie Morningstar said, according to ESPN. “There’s an incredible buzz about the team and Fiserv Forum, and people from all over Wisconsin are excited to be part of it.”
In the past, when Bradley Center opened in 1988, the Bucks sold 8,985 tickets to fans for the 1988-89 season.
In 2014, when Wes Edens and Marc Lasry bought the Bucks from then-owner Herb Kohl for $550 million, the team sold less than 2,500 tickets, which ranked last among 30 NBA teams in ticket sales. However, co-owner promised that the team would remain in Milwaukee and plan to construct a new arena to replace the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Following the purchase of ticket membership, the Bucks are reportedly listed No. 11 among teams in ticket sales, which makes it the highest position ever for the team. In each of the past three seasons, the franchise has increased ticket prices by 12 percent. Morningstar told ESPN that ticket sales have been increased over the last year, with the blended average of 26 percent.
“I’d like to congratulate our sales and service team for this incredible accomplishment,” Peter Feigin, Bucks President, said in a news release. “This is a reflection of an all-hands-on-deck effort across our entire organization and shows the excitement for the Bucks in our first season in Fiserv Forum.”
The features of the new venue include a plaza and a beer garden in the surrounding area.
Fans are excited to watch Giannia Antetokounmpo play along with a decent supporting cast, including Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe and Brook Lopez. Antetokounmpo, known as the “Greek Freak,” is widely regarded as one of the best players in the NBA. The Boston Celtics beat the Bucks in the first round of playoffs last year, and the Bucks have not gotten past the first round of the playoffs since 2001.
The Bucks will face the Indiana Pacers in their first home opener at Fiserv Forum on Friday, October 19.
