New fashion collaborations from the beginning of 2018
Last year ended with a great number of announcements and promos for the new and upcoming fashion collaborations. Instagram feeds were filled with so many different secret images that only suggested what is cooking up. Some choose the social media to announce them, some were lead from their personal preference and likings. The fashion world is one huge market and there is enough space and customers for everyone’s need and progress. What is sure is that if you want your collaboration to be popular and trending, choose a famous person that will be the collaboration’s presenter. As it seems, it is all in the appearances. Combining the needs of the customers with a new fresh idea and vision most commonly results in a limited collection which if proven to be profitable, might become a permanent line in the domain brand. These are the partnerships that launched their collaborations earlier this year:
Iris Apfel x Bergdorf Goodman
In a time when her new book was about to launch, Iris Apfel was approached by Bergdorf Goodman for a store window. This window presented her limited edition collection of apparel, accessories, beauty products and home décor items. All the parts from the collection were inspired only by her fabulous spirit.
Off-White x Jimmy Choo
During the Spring show 2018 at Paris Fashion Week, Off-White announced that they are going in the direction of fancy footwear. Their creative director Virgil Abloh stated that the creative dreams are only fulfilled when they can be combined with the elegance of Jimmy Choo. It was launched back on February 18th and it includes strappy sandals, tulle boots, plastic pumps and many more.
Tolani x Nicky Hilton
Last summer Nicky Hilton announced that there will be a future collaboration with the brand Tolani. The collaboration has resulted in a collection that named “Mommy-and-me”. As a huge fan of this brand, Nicky was seen wearing their designs many times and this collaboration was her personal desire. It presents a fashion connection between her and her daughter. All the pieces are made of 100% silk and there is a total of 20 pieces such as tops, shorts and dresses, both for the moms and girls. The collaboration launched on February 16th.
Keds x Kate Spade
Every bride’s dream is the comfortable footwear. To make them happy, Keds teamed up with Kate Spade and created a capsule collection of bridal sneakers. This wedding collection offers footwear from peal embellished slip-on to glittery lace-ups. Since it dropped back at the end of January, it has been very popular among the new brides.
